2008 Convention and Career Conference Special Events Set

The special events scheduled for the 2008 NAIFA Convention and Career Conference, September 6-10, make the convention more, well… special. Reserve your ticket for these events to make the most of your trip to San Diego.

Convention Welcome Party and Show

Saturday night every registered attendee is invited to NAIFA’s own Southern California beach party featuring the legendary band Papa Doo Run Run. During their more than 40 years together, Papa Doo Run Run has performed as opening act and back up band for Jan & Dean, toured with the Beach Boys, recorded their own gold record and received a Grammy nomination. They will deliver the classic California beach party sound for all to enjoy. This event is complimentary for registered attendees.

realLIFEstories Gala Award Banquet

On Sunday night of the convention LIFE and Newsweek magazine once again team up to share stories that exemplify the power of this industry and why you choose to be an insurance advisor. At this 13th Annual realLIFEstories Award Banquet, you will meet the clients who benefited from the products you sell – life, health, disability income and long-term care insurance – and you will meet the advisors who served them so well. This is a ticketed event.

Spouse/Guest Breakfast

Especially for registered spouses and guests, NAIFA hosts the Monday morning Spouse/Guest Breakfast. Attendance is free for registered spouses and guests. Regular attendees can purchase an advance ticket. LaDonna Gatlin is the featured presenter. The sister of the legendary Gatlin Brothers, LaDonna took a detour on the road to stardom. She got married, took a leap of faith and chose to “sing a different song.” Through her music and words, she has spent her whole career empowering people to sing their own song.

Independent Advisor Networking Dinner

Monday night of the convention is traditionally Company Dinner Night. As many as 20 different companies host dinners especially for their advisors. New in 2008, the NAIFA Convention and Career Conference has added the Independent Advisor Networking Dinner. Independent advisors enjoy the opportunity to join their fellow advisors for a casual dinner and social event. Advance tickets required.

John Newton Russell Memorial Award Dinner and Show

There is no higher honor in this industry than the John Newton Russell Memorial Award, and the Tuesday night of the Convention is set aside to honor and pay tribute to the 2008 recipient, Allan G. Hancock, CLU, ChFC, AEP. Reserve your tickets to be on hand for this special salute. And following the festivities, enjoy the performance of Michael and Amy. These two talented musicians deliver an eclectic mix of music and humor that is sure to entertain you.

The deadline for early registration discounts is June 27! Register now and save. To register or find out more about all of the 2008 NAIFA Convention and Career Conference events, go to www.naifa.org/convention.
